Neema Child Project: Supporting Child Development in Uganda

The Neema Child Project (NCP) exists as a volunteer program under Devxchange, a registered Canadian charity. With its roots based in Uganda – a country where the majority of the population is under the age of 16 – NCP is striving to provide educational programs to the youth in hopes of securing a brighter future for both the individual youth and the whole of Uganda.

As an organization established in Canada, NCP strives to raise donations on behalf of its Ugandan-based parent organization, the Kingdom Child Project (KCP); the latter of which is led by the efforts of Pastor Francis Daniel Mutibwa. Here the donations supply necessities such as food and water, clothing, shelter, healthcare, and costs associated with education.

NCP donations go towards the funding of the following:
⁃ Child Sponsorship
⁃ Cultural Exchange
⁃ Infrastructure Development
⁃ Educational Programs

To highlight recent efforts, from January to June of 2018, the project has seen to it that 200 Ugandan youth have received – and continue to receive – healthcare, education, clothing, and food. As an ongoing effort, these numbers are only expected to further grow. In addition to this, as part of the Cultural Exchange component that the projects run, the Neema Children’s Choir – comprised of children ages 8 to18 – have continued on with their visits to Canada; starting back in 2013, and then again in 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018 – spreading awareness and educating thousands of Canadians about the struggles of Ugandan youth.
