Devxchange’s Newlivelihood project in Ethiopia, is helping more than 500 women at risk of sex trafficking and also helping former sex workers by providing them with vocational training and hope for a better future. Many women now are employed in their vocational trade or are running their own businesses.
During our recent trip, Project Lead Members, Marten, Ralph and Wendy said, “Everywhere we go in the community, whether it is a restaurant, hotel services or transportation, we run into those that have been trained and are now employed because of Devxchange, and we have heard amazing stories from everyone of them. Someone described poverty as serving time for a crime you didn’t commit. The Newlivelihood project is releasing many from that “prison”.”
