Little Bay Missions located in Jamaica endeavors to uplift the local community through multifaceted support initiatives. Our project is dedicated to addressing immediate needs by providing essential sustenance such as food and necessities to those in need. Additionally, we aim to foster long-term empowerment through skill development programs, equipping individuals with the tools and knowledge to improve their livelihoods and become self-sufficient. Through these efforts, we aspire to create a sustainable impact that not only meets immediate needs but also cultivates a resilient and thriving community, grounded in Christian values of compassion and service.

One of the programs we are working on is supporting the children who attend Little Bay school with meals.

There are 166 children, this will cost approximately $3000.00 CAD to support the children for the year with food.

The school is located across the road from our Mission Centre!

Project Goal

The goals of Little Bay Missions are centered around providing sustainable support and empowerment to the community of Little Bay, Jamaica, and beyond. Our goal for this year is two-fold:

1. Weekly Soup Distribution: To provide nutritious meals to four different communities on a consistent basis. This initiative aims to address food insecurity and promote healthy living among vulnerable populations.

2. Employment and Skill Building Opportunities: To create employment opportunities within the local community through the operation of the soup kitchen. We strive to empower community members by offering training in culinary skills, food preparation, and management. This not only supports individuals financially but also equips them with valuable skills for future employment and personal development.

We believe in the transformative power of community support and aim to create a positive impact that extends beyond immediate relief to long-term empowerment.

Project Background

Little Bay, Jamaica, presents a unique set of challenges and opportunities for missions aimed at supporting the local community with food, skill development, and basic needs. The climate is tropical, with hot and humid conditions year-round, occasionally interrupted by hurricane seasons, posing occasional risks to infrastructure and livelihoods.

Little Bay faces economic challenges, with limited employment opportunities and infrastructure development. Many residents struggle with poverty, exacerbated by high unemployment rates and lack of access to education and skills training.

In assessing the needs of Little Bay, it becomes evident that there is a critical need for interventions that address food insecurity, provide access to basic necessities such as clean water and healthcare, and offer opportunities for skill development and economic empowerment. By directly targeting these areas of need, missions can positively impact the lives of residents in Little Bay, fostering a sense of hope and resilience within the community.
