A Sterilization Autoclave would allow our project to use our newly built mushroom production facility to its fullest income generating potential. This machine would allow us to produce our own mushroom seed that could be distributed with our programs and save us a large portion of our current costs to supply them to farmers. Also currently we are at risk of crop failures because we can only pasteurize our mushroom seeds in our current set up with a plastic barrel. When we sterilize the seeds we don’t face these same challenges which can leave a farmer with no income at times because of crop failure. We have priced out a few smaller less expensive ones on the local market place. We need about 100L capacity which if we buy multiple smaller autoclaves and pressure cookers we can save thousands of dollars and be able to sterilize. A brand new 100L autoclave can cost up to $8000 CAD we have priced out a few smaller ones (18L to 25L) around $80-$250, maybe slightly used or new depending on what’s available.
